Robert Navarro, Europarlementariër, en het European Civic Forum, hebben samen een persbericht uitgegeven. Hieronder leest u waarover..

Robert Navarro, Member of the European Parliament, and the European Civic Forum call up for the adoption of a statute for a European association.

Today, across Europe, associations allow millions of Europeans to get involved and to actively participate in the life of their district, their city, their region, their country. A lot of associations have also developed activities at the European level and by that have allowed European citizens to live Europe in a concrete way. But associations’ transnational action is not always easy. The lack of a common framework makes complicated the implementation at the European level of the right of association- nevertheless recognized by the Charter of Fundamental Rights-.

In a time where the European endeavour has broken down, it is essential to boost Europe through active citizenship. In order for Europe not to be just a market and so that citizens can also take completely advantage of the European unification, a statute for a European association is needed.
